Director's Note

Between the two of us, we’ve been involved in many theater productions, in many different capacities. This one, however, feels different. For the past two years, young actors have faced the disappointment of cancelled performances, and a shift to Zoom shows. When they’ve had the opportunity to be on stage, it has been with necessary restrictions that hampered the feel of free expression. In The Wiz, we’ll watch Dorothy attempt to get back home and return to normalcy. Working with this talented cast allowed us to feel normal again, as we dove into our passion for the arts. We can only hope that your kids found it to be as cathartic as we have. During this performance, you’ll see some great singing, high energy dancing, and fantastic acting. What we’re most excited about is seeing their smiles as they perform with a live band in front of a live audience.
