Timeline

Each senior is assigned to an advisor with whom the senior must meet on a scheduled basis throughout the year.  The advisor’s role is to guide the senior through the following meetings and assignments.  All assignments must be completed satisfactorily to pass senior project.

January 27 - 30, 2026 Introduction to and overview of Senior Project   

• Seniors view Introduction to Senior Project presentation from Senior Project Coordinator.  (Presentation will be during your American Government class.)

• Assignment 1 given:  What do I have to do to pass the senior project?

February 6 - February 11, 2026 What do I have to do to pass the senior project?

• Meet with advisor

• Discussion of Assignment 1 – What do I have to do to pass the senior project?

• Expectations clarified where necessary.

• Assignment 2 given:  Researching Essential Questions and Mentors 

February 23 - February 26, 2026  Researching essential questions and mentor possibilities

• Meet with advisor

• Discussion of Assignment 2 – Researching Essential Questions and Mentors

• Talk about plans for finding a Mentor.

• Assignment 3 given: Submitting Your Essential Question

• Assignment 4 given: Submitting Parental Permission/Release for Participation

March 5 - March 10, 2026 Submitting essential question and developing a project proposal

• Meet with advisor

• Hand in Assignment 3:  Submitting the Essential Question. 

• Hand in Assignment 4: Submitting Parental Permission.

• Discussion of Developing a Project Proposal

• Clarify role and expectations of Mentor.

• Assignment 5 given:  Project Proposal

• Assignment 6 given:  Mentor Agreement

March 17 - March 23, 2026 Expectations for remainder of Senior Project – mentor, reflection, documentation and presentation   

• Meet with Advisor

• View Expectations for remainder of Senior Project Presentation 

• What to expect at Senior Project presentation 

• Other topics include Project Proposal, Mentor Agreement, reflection, documentation, and presentation.

• Assignments 5 and 6 – Questions and Clarifications

April 6 - April 9, 2026 Formalizing project proposal and relationship with mentor

• Meet with advisor

• Hand in Assignments 5 and 6 – Project Proposal and Mentor Agreement

• Discussion of expectations for the experiential phase, including what you will do for your 70 hours, the roles you and your Mentor will play in this experience, and how you feel about this upcoming experience. 

April 16 - April 21, 2026 Clarifying Expectations for the Experiential Phase

• Meet with advisor

• Plan for meetings between advisor and student during the experiential phase

• Review expectations for documentation and reflections

• Establish time, date, location, resources, expectations for presentation; Review rubric

• Assignments 7, 8 and 9 given and discussed:  Reflections, Final Presentation and Mentor Evaluation and Log Sheet

LAST DAY FOR SENIOR CLASSES - MAY 1, 2026; EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PHASE-MAY 4-22, 2026

May 26-29, 2026 (June 1 is for makeups) Final Presentation, Demonstration, or Performance

• Make final presentation 

• Submit Assignment 7:  Reflection Journal

• Submit completed Assignment 9 Mentor Evaluation Form/ Log Sheet to Advisor (You cannot graduate without this completed form.)

• SP Presentation Schedule (will be updated as needed) 

• Return your computer to the tech center.
