After growing up in Havertown, Mr. Cooperstein attended Temple University and graduated in 2014 (BM, Music Education/Jazz Instrumental Concentration), and in 2020 from University of the Arts (MM Music Education). In January 2015, Mr. Cooperstein began his time in Lower Merion School District at Bala Cynwyd Middle School. He joined the Lower Merion Music faculty in 2016 and became the teacher of piano lab, and co-teacher of Music Technology & Production, Concert Band, and Concert Choir. He also conducts the PLAYERS Show Orchestra.
Mr. Cooperstein is a saxophonist who has had the pleasure of playing with incredible performers. He has shared the stage with Jon Faddis, Ted Nash, John Swana, Bootsie Barnes, Wycliffe Gordon, Joe Magnarelli, Ralph Lalama, and Elliot Mason. Mr. Cooperstein also had the pleasure of studying under the tutelage of Dick Oatts and Marshall Taylor while at Temple University. Aside from saxophone, Mr. Cooperstein plays flute, clarinet, and piano, composes and arranges music, and works as a sound editor and engineer.
