The Amazing Me
I made this artwork by first sketching out how my self portrait would be. I looked at myself in the mirror for a solid 30 minutes while drawing myself. Then I made an idea sketch of how I would portray myself through artwork. Then I used that idea sketch to add to my portrait. I finished sketching everything and then came the color and decorating. I used markers for outline and color pencils/crayons and oil pastels for the coloring. Then I finished. I decided to put the elements I added in bubbles because I wanted it to pop out. I added my birth year because that’s when I popped out into the world. I put the Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify logo because I watch a lot of videos and TV shows and when I’m not doing that, I’m listening to music. I also added the Converse logo because that is my favorite shoe brand. The playstation logo because I’ve been playing a lot of that lately. I added a smiley face because I like to think that I’m happy. Finally the train that goes behind my head, shows that I live in NYC and take the train everywhere I go because nobody has time for a car. I attempted a sunset looking thing but it didn’t turn out how I thought it was going to look like, still fine to me. I think that I did better than I thought I was going to do because in the beginning I wasn’t so sure of myself but I think it looks fine to me. Next time, I might ditch the oil pastels for paint or something else because apparently I cannot blend colors at all and I hate using oil pastels. I just used it because I thought this time would be different. Anyway, that’s me!
