I Can't Change
I made this artwork by drawing squares and adding my facial figures into them. I used color pencils and markers and regular lead pencils. The colors describe who I am because I am a very upbeat person and these lively colors show my enthusiasm in life. On a more personal note, I think social media for me personally has made me see the things in myself I don't like, making me want to change them. This piece is supposed to show a face being reassembled, pieces mixed up, not proportionate, and obscured. In life no one is perfect and I wanted to demonstrate that through my work. The lyrics behind my work written by Tame Impala, New Person Same Old Mistakes, is showing that we can change how we look but we will always be the same person on the inside and I think that is what our society needs to remember. I feel good about this because I put a lot of effort into it. Next time I would use a water color instead.
