It's Not All of Us

My social message was “It’s not all of us.” I wanted talk about stereotypes and the harmful ones that caused some of these recent events such as hate crimes. I picked this message because I feel like a lot of people believe that if one person or a group of people of a certain race did something, the entire race is completely ruined. They think that the entire race acts in the same way and would do the same thing that that person or that group of people did. For example, Asians are facing a lot of hate crimes at the moment because people believe that they have COVID19.

For colors, there wasn’t a meaning behind why I chose a certain color but, I did use colors to show some races such as Asian, Black, and White. For black, I decided to use red and for asian, I decided to use yellow, and for white, I decided to use blue. I tried drawing a more literal picture, like the people talking in the back, and the three races. I also drew some boxes with some pictures inside to give some examples of some stereotypes. I feel very happy about my work because I think I colored the races pretty well like the shadows. Something that I would do differently would be to make the stuff in the background more visible because you can’t really see the boxes too well.
