Women of Colors Should Be Included In Your Feminism
I picked this message when I found myself starting to get frustrated by white “feminists” who silence women of color, and do not include them in their feminism. As a women of color this makes me angry because all women should be able to speak up about the challenges they face, especially women of color who face so much oppression for being women and a POC. While white women get away with excluding them and not acknowledging their white privilege, or giving voices to POC. I chose to use the color pink as it is known as “ the color for girls” I wanted to show women of color in a delicate and kind of feminine light, that they are never shown in. I also used the color red to show aggression and dominance as women of color are strong and powerful.
Next time, I would do a completely different piece, I felt rushed and overwhelmed when making this piece, this caused me to panic and not create a piece to my preference. Next time, I would try and go into it with a good mindset and create something authentic to me, and not like a copy of someone else.
