Marinette
The artist, KAWS, was my inspiration for my artwork. Some of his art takes already existing characters and changes them to match his art style [ ex. X’s on eyes, hands, nose ] so that’s what I did.
The character I chose for my artwork is Marinette Dupain-Chan from the show, Miraculous Ladybug. I found a photo of her online and while I was drawing her, I changed some features of her face, hair, things like that, by drawing her features in a more comfortable way, since my kind of art style isn’t like how Marinette looks like. I also added some extra accessories and features like the band-aid on the cheek, blush, purse, the red blow-like hair tie, and the necklace. I changed her shirt but still kept her signature icon on the shirt.
I feel okay about my artwork. It’s not the best, but I know I can do WAY better. Cartoons aren’t really my style, and the look of them always alternates and varies every time I draw or doodle cartoons and people. The head looks a bit off, and I feel like some of her facial features don’t match with the others. The shirt doesn’t look that good, and I did a simple shirt because I didn’t know what else to do for it. I do like some of the parts of the artwork though, like the eyes, bag, bandaid, hair, lips, and the blush. I don’t really like the entire work very much, but I don’t completely hate it either, so I guess it’s alright and good enough.
Next time, I would do another character, or just correct some of the features, head shape, and the shirt to make it more in place and look better.
