The Los Lunas' Educational Technology team will be making an appearance at the following events providing the community with activities purchased through Meta Grant funds.
Sundance Career Night was a success in showcasing video projects students shared with families explaining a career path they are interested in.
Ann Parish welcomed parents to learn and explore tech tools that Los Lunas Schools has provided.
Math Night included fun interactive learning as student used a mix of manipulative with Osmos and iPads. They also got immersed into virtual reality with time and mon ey experiences.
Students create and apply their short films to the annual Film Festival event. Our winners got showcased at the Los Lunas Star Light Cinema as well as the local drive-in movie theater. Families & community members were invited to join the event and view their child's videos with them. This event continues to grow year after year.
EdTech supported ClassVR Virtual Reality opportunities to immerse in career scenes.
EdTech supported Merge Cubes and Balloon Racing this day/evening.
EdTech supported BeeBots and Balloon Racing at DVE's STEAM day/evening. Student's encouraged each other as they engineered and coded.
Virtual Reality headsets were a huge hit at Peralta's Career night as student became astronauts in space, farmers in the field, animal biologist in a wild field, and geologist in an active volcano!
Families came together to create Balloon Race Cars, tangram shapes with OSMOs, and Geometric Coding with Dash robots.
VMS students used the Podcasting studios to create podcast that talk about Social Emotional Learning (SEL) These Podcast were shared across the school and published for the community to view and tune into, spreading SEL knowledge outside the classroom walls.
The EdTech team has inventoried and delivered the Oculus II devices to our three high schools. The Digital Learning Coaches are currently in training as they partner with New Mexico State University in successfully implementing Virtual Reality in Education. The Los Lunas district's Innovation Design Lab is official open! Items are ready for checkout and room is used for a learning space for educators.
Staff participates in Learning Playgrounds across the district as they get introduced to new innovative tools and ways to engage students with tech tools.
Jaguar Nation put on an event that welcomed the community to different stands that our Jaguar Nation represents. EdTech had a VR and Drone interactive areas for families to explore and code together.
One of Peralta's favorite family events is the Fall Festival. Edtech was able to do theme based coding and video creation activities.
