A Travel Story from a Teacher
A teacher passed by a small school in Cambodia. She was curious about a wall picture and went in. Only three classrooms in this school. They smiled to us.
Touch Darith’s home was poor. He earned money by driving a Tuk-tuk. He met a couple from New York when he was 20 years old. They changed his life! They gave him money for university study and got a tour guide license.
He felt gratitude for others’ helping and thus he wants to help the people in his country. He knows that only going to school can help the poor to change their lives. So he opened this school about four years ago because of an Australian couple. He wanted poor kids in the neighborhood to study for free.
He is an earnest tour guide and drives a tuk-tuk every day. He spends part of his money for hiring teachers, renting, buying things kids need, and improving the school building!
