The Science and Engineering pathway may interest students who like to research, complete experiments, design and improve systems or work with animals and the environment. Skills needed in these fields include high levels of critical thinking and problem-solving, teamwork and attention to detail. The Computer Science and Information Technology pathway will appeal to students who want to be in a cutting-edge, ever changing environment with the ability to work in nearly any industry. Generally, students will work with computer hardware, software, multimedia or network systems.
The Business and Administration pathway may appeal to students interested in a variety of areas including entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality and tourism, human resources, law or management. Individuals who enjoy working with diverse populations, have solid communication skills and are interested in analyzing data and reports may want to further explore the many career options within this pathway.
The Education and Public Service pathway is designed to provide students an opportunity to study educational methods while exploring and discussing the larger concepts of education as a career path. Students will get to hear from and engage with educational professionals outside of Lincoln in order to gain varying perspectives of what education as a career can look like. Students will have produced their own educational portfolio.will interest students who enjoy influencing lives, teaching new ideas or skills, are strong communicators and value rules, laws and safety. Students in this pathway tend to pursue careers in education, government and public administration industries but can be employed in others.
The Health Care pathway will be a good fit for students interested in anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and the general workings of the human body. This pathway opens the door to working in a variety of environments including clinics, fitness centers, hospitals, nursing homes, offices, research laboratories, rehabilitation centers and even sports arenas to name a few.
In this Pathway, students will explore topics and careers connected with the law. We will work together to consider the purpose for laws, what happens when laws are not just, and how people use activism to change them.
The Arts, Communication and Design pathway may interest students who enjoy expressing their thoughts and opinions and using their creativity to create content. Students can pursue careers in many industries but the most common include journalism and media, visual and performing arts, fashion, and audio/visual technology.
