*NEW* Resilience: 50 Indigenous Art Cards and Teaching Guide

Art Cards and Teaching Guide

Resilience: 50 Indigenous Art Cards and Teaching Guide is a boxed set that contains 50 full-colour, 8" x 10" reproductions of contemporary Indigenous art and a bilingual (English/French) teaching guide, full of ideas on how to use the art cards to animate discussions and inspire activities in all subjects, from kindergarten to grade 12.

The artworks by 50 First Nations, Inuit and Metis women artists can be used to talk about the power of stories, environmental concerns, Indigenous-Settler relations and more. Engaging, hands-on art-related activities will deepen learning for all ages.

Answer Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action #62 and integrate Indigenous perspectives into your classroom today.

Based on an exhibition curated by Lee-Ann Martin, with teaching guide developed by Yvette Cenerini, Lita Fontaine, Dawn Knight and Albert McLeod.

TLLP Blog

This blog was created by educators in the LKDSB on a professional learning journey hoping to deepen their knowledge of the local indigenous language and culture that surrounds our schools.

On this blog, they share artefacts, resources and their personal reflections along the way. They hope that sharing their journey will help inspire other educators to connect with their local indigenous communities in order to take steps toward fulfilling the TRC Calls to Action (62, 63 for education).
