Meet Your ACE Coordinator:
Mr. Benjamin Cardenas
Hello! My name is Benjamin Cardenas. This is now my 4th year with the ACE Program at J.D. Salinas M.S. Our students have had a wonderful time participating in the various activities that we offer at our campus. By way of background, I am a La Joya ISD graduate, Class of 1996. I attended South Texas Vo-Tech, and received a Paralegal Certificate in 1998 and worked in the legal field for 20 years before moving over to La Joya ISD. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (with a minor in Spanish) in 2010, and have worked tirelessly to understand student and family dynamics. It is my firm belief that when students have a solid foundation at home, they bring that positivity to school where they can succeed in their endeavors. My hobbies include spending time with family, reading, watching TV shows, listening to a variety of music genres, cycling, and operating ham (amateur) radio.
The goal of the ACE Program at J.D. Salinas Middle School:
To successfully implement all ACE Program grant guidelines, ensure student success through socio-emotional learning, and provide meaningful/engaging activities after school.
