Referrals will open in October, and links will be posted below.
All Kindergarten students are automatically considered for gifted/talented services (TEA's Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students) through screening measurements administered to all students in grade K. Students who meet qualifying criteria from screening assessments will be recommended for further testing following scoring of screenings. Parents will be notified in writing of student assessment results and placement recommendation. Services for Kindergarten G/T students will begin March 1 each year.
Students in grades 1st-12th can be referred by parents, students, and staff members. Students referred after the deadline will be assessed in the next testing cycle the following year.
Students are screened and assessed using instruments determined by the LISD G/T Committee. Both qualitative and quantitative data will be used during the identification process, and students may only be screened once per school year.
Referral forms for grades 1st -12th will open October 19, 2026. All Kindergarten students are automatically considered for screening.
