The mission of the LPS World Language Department is to prepare students to become global citizens and develop a lifelong love for learning languages by 

• Creating language learning environments that encompass speaking, listening, reading, writing, and collaborative activities in the target language, making learning meaningful and engaging.

• Offering opportunities for students to engage with authentic cultural materials and resources, enriching their understanding of the world's cultures.

• Emphasizing student proficiency in using the target language for genuine communication in real-world contexts, fostering practical language skills.

• Creating a safe space that values students' perspectives and cultivates cross-cultural empathy.

• Incorporating students' own cultural backgrounds into our teaching, encouraging them to compare and contrast their heritage with those represented in the classroom, as well as with the culture(s) associated with the target language.
