Q: What instruments are eligible to audition for jazz band?
A: Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Saxophones, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drumkit, and Piano.
Q: What if my child does not play one of those instruments, but would like to audition?
A: We encourage you to audition on a second instrument! Many of our oboe, flute, and clarinet players make wonderful saxophone, trombone, and trumpet players. Talk to Ms. Rupert and she can help you get started.
Q: How many students do you take in the jazz band? How many slots are there?
A: There are no defined number of spots. Typically, the group is around 20-25 members. We typically take 2 or less students on piano, drum and guitar, meaning that these instruments are highly competitive.
Q: Can students audition on multiple instruments?
A: Yes! They just need to sign up for two slots at different times.
Q: What time are auditions?
A: It depends on when students sign up. The date set is Wednesday, October 14th and times are ranging from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Please sign up for an audition slot outside of room 121.
