Dear Parents of the Livingston Public Schools,

I hope your children have had a good start to the 2023-2024 school year! As always, September has been a busy and exciting month here in Livingston and we are excited to look ahead to an important month ahead. I am proud to help kick off all of the activities, programs and initiatives occurring across our schools throughout October, our Month of Awareness. This is one of the ways in which we embrace the themes portrayed in our LPS Portrait of a Graduate, and our programs directly align with the areas of being a conscientious friend, a balanced individual, a thoughtful communicator and a collaborative leader.

Livingston Public Schools joins districts statewide to honor The Week of Respect and School Violence Awareness Week. Our programs will highlight our continued focus and dedication to teaching acceptance, anti-racism, kindness and respect in order to foster positive and safe school environments. Additionally, Livingston Public Schools recognizes National Red Ribbon Week and supports students in their pledge to be drug free. Throughout the month, our school counselors, student assistance counselors and teachers will partner together in activities and lessons to foster student awareness about cyber-bullying, Internet safety, code of conduct, as well as sensitivity and respect for our differences. Community liaison officers from the Livingston Police Department will also join in these important conversations across our schools.

Please exlpore this website to learn more about the various programs occurring throughout the month in your child's school. These themes will be continued throughout the school year across our schools and we encourage you to have conversations with your child during the month, and throughout the year on these topics.

Thank you,

Mrs. Sinéad Crews
