As the teacher of a class with diverse learners and ability levels, you have to choose the skills and concepts that you deem most essential to the unit. THOSE are what you should assess and base your grades off of!

About the Author:
Mike Munley is a veteran of the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS, serving both overseas and abroad. Following graduation from Montclair State University (NJ) where he earned his degree in Health and Physical Education, he began teaching at Livingston High School in 2009. He has taught grades 9-12 in all of the courses offered through the department. Additionally Mike has served as a coach, club advisor, Behind the wheel driving instructor, and intramural sports supervisor. Mike began presenting Professional Development workshops at the district, professional association, and state level for fellow educators in 2015, and to date has delivered over a dozen presentations. Topics have ranged from Driver Education activities, to implicit Bias, and rubric writing.
Mike earned a Master of Education in Health and Wellness education in March 2022 and completed his second M.Ed. program at the American College of education, with a focus on Teacher Leadership in 2023.
Outside of education, Mike enjoys playing in recreation league sports, spending time with his friends, family, and beloved dog "Gunny", and is an avid snowboarder during the winter.
