If your child is applying for the Elementary School Gifted and Talented Program for the Visual Arts, they are required to:
Create one original still life drawing to submit with their application. The original work must be from direct observation as per the information on the Instructions Tab above. Drawings must be created by the student applying. Drawings created in school, created under the assistance of a private art teacher, or created in a private art class will not be accepted. This portion of the application will be submitted electronically. Additional details on how to do so can be found under the More Tab - Submit Application.
An in class observational drawing will be assessed and scored by the Elementary Art Teachers. More details about this will be forthcoming after May 30, 2025.
In-person test: this test will be given and will be proctored your child's Elementary Art Teacher. It will be the parent’s responsibility to provide transportation to school for the in-person school test. All materials will be provided by the school.
Your child's Art Teacher will inform you by email regarding the in-person test after May 30, 2025. These are the dates the test will be given, at your home school, at 7:15 AM:

The in-person test has two parts:
a. Still Life Drawing in pencil to assess technical drawing skills.
b. The Torrance Test of Creativity; this test is used to assess imagination, ingenuity, and inventiveness.
Please understand that the program is highly selective, and the results of the selection process are final.
