Entrepreneurship Course Syllabus

Description of Course:
The Entrepreneurship course allows students to design a comprehensive business plan with the goal of starting their own business. Students will learn about market research, advertising, promotion, forecasting, financial statements, and the legal environment. This course will include discussions about business opportunities, feasibility studies, market analysis, legal issues facing start-ups, pricing strategies, and promotional strategies. Presentations, speakers, and computer applications are instructional tools used to meet the educational goals of this course.

Materials Needed:
- Notebook Paper or Spiral Notebook
- Pens or Pencils
- Flash Drive (optional to backup files or work at home)
Grading Policy:
Assignments will be worth points based on degree of difficulty and size. Your grade will be the total points earned divided by the total points possible.
Attendance/Make-up Work/Retest
- Attendance is very important. Make-up homework/classwork should be turned-in with-in three days of returning to school, quizzes and tests should be make-up within seven days.
- I will not ask for missing work, it is the student’s responsibility to come to me for missing work
- Any late work will receive a 10 point deduction for every day late.
- **An IMPORTANT Point To Remember: Any grade is better than a ZERO!!!
***Parents and Technology Awareness***
In accordance with the Liverpool Acceptable Use Policy, your student will use a variety of technology in our classroom in order to meet his or her academic goals. When using technology, as in all circumstances, your student is responsible for exhibiting high standards of behavior.
Specifically, your student will have an account in the following service:
- Google Classroom- a secure, social learning platform for teachers and students. It provides a safe and easy way for classes to connect and collaborate, share content and access homework, grades and school notices.
- Access Google Classroom at classroom.google.com
Other General Information:
- Dress Code Policy will be followed in this classroom. In addition, Tuesdays will be Dress 4 Success days throughout the semester. You will receive extra credit for every Tuesday you participate.
- Bathroom passes will be given at the teacher's discretion. There are five minutes between classes, use them.
- Follow Directions the first time they are given.
- Do your own work. Duplicate assignments will result in zeroes for BOTH parties involved.
- Cheating will not be tolerated. If you are caught copying work for another class, the teacher will be notified.
- No cell phone or other electronic devices during class time without permission. The guidelines in your planner will be followed:
- Only Business 101 materials should be on your desk during class time. Please keep all personal belongings on the floor under your desk, including other class materials.
- Demonstrate respect and courtesy for peers and adults. Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly, respectful manner at all times. Liverpool High School discipline guidelines will be enforced. Language and conversations must be school appropriate or will result in consequences.
- No Youtube, HUDL, or other video and game websites will be allowed during class time.
- All work needs to be saved to your Google Drive.
- Be completely silent during all announcements on the public address system.
- At the end of class, return your laptop to its charging location, remain in your seat until the bell rings and push in your chair.
