I started my teaching career almost immediately after receiving my undergraduate degree in English/Communications from LeMoyne College in 1990. While at LeMoyne, I enjoyed working on the college newspaper The Dolphin as a writer and Art Editor. Courses in journalism, Advertising, Creative Writing, and Mythology were my favorite! I also interned and then worked at Manlius Publishing as a writer and coordinator of Special Sections of the Eagle Newspapers. I had a terrific student teaching experience at Heninnger High School with the most amazing English teacher and mentor, Joe Casamento. In 1992, I completed my Masters Degree in Reading from SUNY Oswego. The commute was not fun but I did have excellent professors (Dr. Wells, Dr. Boljonis, and Dr. Christine Walsh) and I met my husband!
