Event FAQ
You have four options:
Create a new event: Open the Cobu Dashboard, click on See Gathering Details, Upcoming Gatherings, and then Create New Gathering.
Duplicate a past event: Open the Cobu Dashboard, click on See Gathering Details, Past Gatherings, pick an event, and click Duplicate. You can then modify and publish the event.
Use a template: Open the Cobu Dashboard, click on See Gathering Details, Gathering Templates, pick a template and click Create Gathering. Templates are available for each month and also for grab-n-go and food truck events. You can then modify and publish the event.
Let Cobu create the event: Email the event info to our team, and we will get it added for you. Be sure to include the name of the building. Email your request to customersuccess@livecobu.com.

Gathering Name: Choose a name that's shorter than 10 words.
Gathering Description: Provide some details about the event.
Event Recurring Frequency: Choose one-time, weekly, or custom.
Start Date and Time: Enter the date and time of the event.
End Date and Time: Is optional. Enter the end date and time of the event.
Group: You will typically keep the building group but can choose any group in the building via the dropdown menu.
Event Type: Chose Community Wide or Fitness. Fitness events don't receive a notification when added.
Image: Is optional. Add an image with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The best size is 1920 ✕ 1080, but Cobu will crop. Images should be smaller than 10 MB. If an image is not uploaded, the building image will be used.
Location: Add the event location, for example: Lobby
RSVP: Choose yes to require RSVPs. In combination with the Total Attendees number and Guests Allowed per Resident, this feature allows you to limit the number of attendees. For example, if you need to limit an event to 50 people: Total Attendees: 50, Guests Allowed per Resident: 1 (This would allow 50 attendees total. The event would be at capacity if 30 residents RSVP'd and 20 brought 1 guest.)
What to bring: Is optional. Enter anything you expect residents to bring to the event. For example tell residents to bring a form of payment for a food truck.
Email Event Reminder Notification: Cobu will send an email reminder according to the selection. Email reminders can be sent 3 and 5 days in advance and are sent in the early afternoon unless the event is full.
Send event flyer: Select this option to receive a cobranded event flyer via email that can be printed and distributed around the community. The cobranded event flyer also contains information on how to download the Cobu app and helps keep adoption rates high.
Creator's email: Simply use the same email as you use to log into the Cobu Dashboard. You can also choose this email address from the dropdown list.
Add your events to Cobu. Adding events at least 7 days in advance helps to increase the RSVP count and attendance.
Ask residents in your event description to RSVP/Express Interest. For example: "Please RSVP - it helps us plan better! Plus, you'll get reminders." "Please express interest - it helps us plan better! Plus, you'll get reminders."
Use the call to action "RSVP on the Cobu app" on your flyers or use the flyers sent to you by Cobu.

Review your past events.
Use Cobu's event inspirations for every month of the year.
Run a survey and ask your residents which events they would like to see (ask Cobu for help with the survey)
Use Cobu's templates in the dashboard. Click on the How to link for planning ideas and cost estimates. You can also directly access the event ideas and how tos for each month.
Cobu considers both actions "RSVPs" that help onsite teams with planning and event feedback. The main difference is the ability to limit the number of attendees when using the "RSVP required" option.
Rsvp is required
Residents see a button to RSVP.
Residents with an RSVP receive a reminder push notification 2 hours before the event and a prompt to review the event after the event is over.
If the event is at capacity, residents are not be able to RSVP.
RSVP is not required
Residents see a button to Express Interest.
Residents who have expressed interest receive a reminder push notification 2 hours before the event and a prompt to review the event after the event is over.
There is limit on how many residents can express interest.
Yes, you can edit or delete an event until the start time. Click on More Actions and then Edit or Delete.
Log into the Cobu dashboard and click on See Gathering Details. You will see the RSVP count for each upcoming or past event.

Yes, log into the Cobu dashboard and click on See Gathering Details. Click on View RSVPS to see the email addresses, names, unit numbers, and number of guests for residents who have RSVP'd or expressed interest.

The best way to print a list is to use your browser's print feature (File -> Print), which also allows you to save the file as a PDF.

Cobu does not send notifications. You can always see up-to-date RSVP/Express Interest counts in the Cobu Dashboard.
Cobu does not currently have a waitlist function. However, Cobu plans to add this feature in the future.
Yes, Cobu prompts residents to rate events on a scale of 1 to 3, where 3 is the best rating. Residents can also leave feedback when prompted for the rating.
Log into the Cobu dashboard and click on See Gathering Details and then. choose Past Gatherings. The average rating along with number of responses is shown for each event. Click on Event Feedback to view the feedback left by residents.

Residents are notified in multiple ways:
Residents receive push notifications when the event is created (unless disabled by resident).
Registered resident users on Cobu can receive an email 3 or 5 days prior to the event if PM team chooses that option when the event is created. Note: Emails are not sent to any residents that are not registered on Cobu.
A post is made in Cobu 3 days before the event.
Residents who have RSVP'd/Expressed Interest receive a push notification 2 hours before event start.
Residents who have RSVP'd or Expressed Interest are notified via a push notification if the start date or time changes.
Best practices are to post in the general chat and in the event chat to ensure residents are aware of the changes.
Yes, any event can be added to the calendar. If the start date changes or the event is cancelled, residents will need to make those changes to their calendars.
There is no difference. Events and gatherings are used interchangeably.
Cobu creates the RSVP link for every event. You can access it for upcoming events. Open the Cobu Dashboard, click on See Gathering Details, choose Upcoming Gatherings, click on More Actions, select Get RSVP link.
You can use this link on web pages and in emails. Users with a code account will be prompted to log into Cobu to see and RSVP for the event. Users who don't have a Cobu account will be prompted to register to see and RSVP for the event.
