11/8/24
Chronic absenteeism is defined as a student who has two or more absences each month, with a total of 18+ per days per school year, leading to missing at least 10% of the overall school experience.
Each month, chronic absenteeism letters are automatically generated through our Aspen system and sent to your portal. In September, your child received a letter if they had 2 or more absences. In October, your child received a letter if they had 4 or more absences since the beginning of school. In November, it will be 6 absences and so forth. This is cumulative in nature and will continue for the entire school year.
Please remember, if your family is going on a vacation or will be leaving the country for an extended period of time, you must notify Mrs. Kane of your child's absence.
