Feeding
What is feeding therapy?
More than just teaching a child to eat.
Therapist works directly with the caregiver and child to help the child safely eat and meet their nutritional needs, while also enjoying meal time!
Therapy can help with:
Difficulties chewing and swallowing food
Refusal of certain foods or textures
Difficulty transitioning from one texture to another
Sensitivity to flavors
Difficulty with motor control and coordination of food in mouth
Gagging, choking, vomiting
Refusal to try new food
A limited diet
Infants with difficulty coordinating suck, swallow, breathe pattern
Pacing of eating
Postural control to support effective eating
