Movie License
Swank Movie Licensing USA Public Performance Site License:
this license allows us to show movies for entertainment purposes (rewards, inclement weather recess, etc)
must be shown inside the school building (it is a different license that's needed for showing movies outdoors & we don't have this outdoor license)
the movie being shown must be a legally obtained copy - the school can own it, the individual/teacher can own it, rented from Red Box, rented from the public library, etc - as long as it is a legal copy
there is a searchable section of the website where staff can browse to see what is covered under our license, filter by rating etc, or search for a specific movie title
1. Click "Search" in the top right corner.
2. Make sure the menu is set to K-12 Schools next to the search bar.
Specific movie titles can be searched. You can also look through & filter the available movies by going to https://www.swank.com/k-12-schools/movies/ and then clicking "Movies" along the top menu. There are various ribbons - trending, coming soon, new releases, etc. Once you find a ribbon, you can click "show all" and then use the top filters to help narrow things down or download an Excel or PDF file with the movie titles for that category.
*Netflix, Prime, and other streaming services should not be used to stream content and shared within the classroom (violates terms of service)
