Scarecrow Jamboree
Friday, October 29, 2021
All scarecrows should be picked up by Sunday, Oct 31 by noon.
Scarecrow Jamboree is on October 29, 2021.
Scarecrows should be dropped off at GMS on October 28 between 4 p.m - 6 p.m.
Instructions/Rules
Scarecrows should be made by students, with parent support.
Students have learned a little history about scarecrows and watched videos about scarecrow making. Ask what they learned!
Some classes will plan scarecrows in class during the week of Oct 12. Ask about student drawings and screencasts.
Scarecrows should be able to stay together even on a windy or misty day.
BE CREATIVE! A scarecrow could be a movie star, cartoon or book character, a famous person from history. Give your scarecrow a personality of its own.
TWO students may work on a scarecrow. Or students may work individually.
Each scarecrow should have a strong base, allowing the scarecrow to be moved easily. Two videos below can help explain this.
Scarecrows will be displayed outside (or in the gym in the case of rain).
Looking for Scarecrow building ideas? Third and Fourth grade students watched these videos in class. We hope this helps you construct your scarecrows at home!
