The FAFSA will be available beginning December 1, 2025. You must fill out the FAFSA to receive any state financial aid. The sooner you file the FAFSA, the sooner you will know what your expected contribution will be towards each college to which your student has been accepted. For more information, please consult the Financial Aid and Scholarship Guide. Please note that if you have a financial aid question in regards to a specific issue pertaining to you or your student, it can best be answered by the student's prospective college financial aid officers.
Lincoln Land Community College Litchfield campus will host a FAFSA completion workshop sometime in October, date TBA. Register at www.llcc.edu/litchfield, call 217-786-3401, or email llcc-litchfield@llcc.edu.
The FAFSA Simplification Act (Act) was enacted into law as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, and amended by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022. The Act further amends the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), and impacts the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). See this document for how this act will impact your student's FAFSA application.
