Each day we all worry about things we are unsure about. Everyone feels this way sometimes. This may be with our friends, our school work or something else in our world. Watch this clip about the story called 'What to do with a problem' and see what we can do when we feel worried.
Watch the following clip about a book called 'What do you do with a problem?' by Kobi Yamada and think about ways every problem has an opportunity for something good.
Class Discussion:
When we worry our problems become really big. When we have the courage to have a go and face our fears we realise we can achieve something really special.
Some examples may be:
Doing a speech - we may worry about feeling nervous and speaking in front of others.
Not being able to run in the athletics carnival. Sometimes we worry about coming last or not being able to finish. We may worry what others may think.
Trying out for the 1500m trial on Thursday.
Not getting the answers right on a test.
What is something you have worried about and did it become a big problem?
How did this makes your body feel?
What thoughts go through your head?
How can you face these fears?
How do you feel once you face your problem and face your fears?
When we have the courage to have a go and face our fears we realise we can achieve something really special.
Activity:
Being courageous is one of our school values. Draw or write about a time when you were courageous, faced your fears and realised that you can do something really special.
