Coach Wright and Coach Fenet Wright have been at Longview since August of 2002. James is from Grimsby, England, and Margaret is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. James was the former girls coach at Pine Tree I.S.D. before moving to Longview, and Margaret was the assistant men's and women's coach at Centenary University in Shreveport. Margaret also coached the Longview Soccer Club before accepting the coaching job at Longview High School. Both James and Margaret played professional in the United States International Soccer League.
Over the past fourteen years, these two coaches have helped to build the soccer program into a consistently winning team and to help turn the young men that come through the program into college players with opportunities to continue to learn and build on their success. Last Years team had a wonderful year with a Playoff run followed behind a very young squad. This year with only 3 seniors the expectations for success will remain high following an undefeated 2015 JV squad.
Jose Torres played at Longview for two years before moving to Pachuca and now Tigres. Torres has also been an avid team member of the U.S. National team. Last year saw a record number of Lobo Soccer players moving on to play college soccer. Danny McQuaid will be the first High School player from East Texas to play at SMU. Letourneau saw four Longview players start for the Yellowjackets. The hope for the future of the Longview program is to maintain its high standing in the area, and continue to produce college-ready players. "This years team, 2015-2016, is a wonderful group to work with. There is a huge challenge to turn a great atmosphere and team spirit in to a winning and successful year. We are looking forward to getting started and hope that parents and supporters will come out and cheer us on".
