More up-to-date information will be provided regarding the 2023-2024 season.

The 2020-2021 season was different due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The kick-off and competition were performed virtually through Infinite Recharge at Home. The team produced a working robot that performed in the skills competition, game design challenge, and FIRST Innovation Challenge by Qualcomm. The competition also included an interview, business pitch, and judge's Q&A.

The LHS UIL/FIRST Robotics team would like to thank its sponsors:

LISD, TCIS Charter, LHS, NASA, Texas Workforce Commission, and FIRST in Texas.

The LHS Lobots will kick off their season on January 4, 2020 as they travel to Texas Instruments in Dallas where they are assigned a task for this year's competition. Competing in FIRST Robotics, they will have six weeks to build their robot. They compete at Greenville High School on February 28-March 1 and again at Emmett J. Conrad High School in Dallas on March 19-21. The state meet is in San Antonio on April 2-4 and the world championship is in Houston on April 15-18.

GO, LOBOTS!!

For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology

October 7, 2019

Dear Community Supporters,

I am excited to introduce you to the Longview High School robotics team, led by Mr. Saleh Mobin and Greg Hubbard, which prepares students for the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). The competition kicks off in January 2020, where the team of students and coaches travels to Texas Instruments in Dallas. The students begin designing and building their robot to compete in two qualifying meets – Greenville High School on February 28 – March 1 and the second meet to be determined within the next two weeks. If the team qualifies for the state meet, they travel to San Antonio on April 2-4. Last of all, FIRST Robotics hosts an international meet in Houston on April 15-18, where teams from all over the world meet to collaborate and to compete.

Taken from the official trailer, “this 2019-2020 season, FIRST RISE, powered by Star Wars: Force for Change, is setting out to inspire citizens of the galaxy to work together, strengthening and protecting the Force that binds us and creating a place where collaboration and collective wisdom can elevate new ideas and foster growth.”

In preparation for the competition season, we are looking for support. We need volunteers in fabrication, mechanical and electrical concepts, computer programming and control, computer aided design and animation, and public relations. Please contact me or feel free to give out my contact information to anyone who would like to volunteer in the area of robotics. We need a team of volunteers to assist the students on their road to success. Additionally, we are looking for sponsors and corporations to contribute supplies or monetary donations.

Please check out the FIRST and the FIRST in Texas websites. LHS competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
