Sarah (McDaniel) Saunders attended Longview High School and graduated in 3 years, class of '04, to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. HOOK EM! Sarah became certified to teach from an alternative certification program, Texas Teachers. Her true passion for teaching began with coaching competitive swimming and teaching learn-to-swim programs. Her passion grew with her love of mathematics and her students. She currently teaches IB Math Applications and Interpretations Year 1 to Juniors, IS Pre-Calculus, and IS Algebra II.

She loves teaching in the International Baccalaureate program because it challenges students in a different way, setting them up with collegiate-level problem-solving and critical thinking skills. She also enjoys the approach IB takes toward professional development and teacher training, making her a more diverse teacher and therefore challenging her to grow stronger learners.
