CONFERENCE TIME

12:40-1:25

LUNCH

10:45-11:15

My name is DeAnne Martin, and I am so excited to be teaching Head Start again this year. I'm happy to be back, and can't wait to see all the new things these little ones will do and learn!

Reminders

Our class has PE on Tuesdays. Please make sure your child wears shoes suitable for running.

School begins promptly at 7:30 am. Breakfast begins at 8:00 am.

School is dismissed at 3:00 daily.

Please be sure your child has his or her backpack and folder each day.

Rhyme Time

Practice rhyming words as often as possible. Make it a game!

bat, cat, fat, hat, mat, pat, sat

bad, dad, had, lad, mad, pad, sad, tad

cot, dot, lot, not, pot, rot, tot

Rapid Letter Practice

Click on the letter 'm' to the right to practice rapid letter naming. The letters are all mixed up - uppercase and lowercase - and will fade out to the next letter after a few seconds. Practice naming the letters, or the letter sounds. All the letters are represented, so there are 52 total slides.

Rhyme Time

Some of our favorite videos help us learn our numbers or letters, and also help us get fit!

Class Wish List

Each year I utilize various classroom funding sites to help acquire extra materials for our class. If you are able to contribute, please choose one of these campaigns to support. If you are not able to contribute yourself, please share a link to one of the campaigns on social media. Thank you so much for your help!

Help give my students a Head Start on Reading by providing each student a new book to take home every month. Please help me reach my goal of $300 to foster a love of reading for these little ones. Any extra funds will help our classroom library grow as well.

Kids love to retell stories, and there is no better way to do that than with puppets. Last year we made a "theater" out of cardboard, but it fell apart in less than a week. We need one that is sturdy, but portable.

FULLY FUNDED!

Another great way to retell or create stories is with flannel or felt boards. The little ones love to use these precut felt pieces to retell their favorite stories, or even create new stories of their own!
