Board President

 Mr. Judson Murray

Mr. Murray, a 1978 graduate of Longview High School, is a local business owner that has shown loyalty to his alma mater through various contributions over the years, including serving three terms on the Longview ISD Board of Trustees. Upon learning the unique, innovative opportunities being offered through Senate Bill 1882, he volunteered his knowledge and experience to the ETAA Board of Directors as they offer expanded options not offered under traditional public education. "What I hope is to make our school system and our city better and more progressive," Murray said. "So my children and grandchildren stay here in Longview and become an active part of this community and not move away because they had to find work.”

Board Secretary

 Rev. LaDarian Brown

A Longview High School graduate, Mr. Brown is the senior pastor at Parkview Baptist Church and current president of the Longview Area Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. He is also a police officer, serving as an area representative for a South Longview neighborhood. "I can promise every ETAA parent and student you will have a present, visible, and active board member," he said. "Can’t make informed decisions if you are not." He considers it a privilege to serve as an ETAA board member, and supports efforts to ensure that the board represents the student body of its six campuses.

Board Director

Dr. Selwyn E. Willis

Dr. Willis, a 1977 graduate of Longview High School, received a Bachelor’s degree from Austin College and completed his medical training at the College of Podiatry Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at St. Bernard Hospital before returning to his hometown in 1987 to create a partnership practice with Dr. I. E. Willis. He is dedicated to serving the community and believes in improving the educational opportunities for the students of this district. He is interested in the new technology being offered in our schools and has expressed his gratitude at being part of this experience that is shifting the ways that students learn.

In Memory of Director Sam Satterwhite

Mr. Sam Satterwhite

Mr. Satterwhite, a 1970 graduate of Longview High School, was a business owner that had immense pride and respect for his community. A former member of the Longview ISD Board of Trustees, he always looked out for the best interest of students and ensured that they receive every chance at a bright future possible. Mr. Satterwhite has said, "I serve on the Board for several reasons. First, I have been blessed to live in this community all my life and was guided by wonderful teachers, counselors, coaches, and principals. It became my responsibility to give back a fraction of what I received, and serving on the board is a way to pay it forward by giving to our present and future students, as well as our school employees and taxpayers. I care deeply for LISD, so board service is a way to transform lip service into action. If, in some small way, I can make a positive difference, then my time on the board has not been wasted." It is certain that Mr. Satterwhite made a positive difference in his lifetime, and that he will be greatly missed by the district and the community.
