Parliment passed the Tea Act in 1773 in hopes to ease the anger of the colonist. The Tea Act gave the East India Company monopoly over all sales of tea in the colonies- meaning Britain had complete control of the tea industry. Colonist liked to smuggle tea from other countries for better prices.

Everyone is angry that Britain isn't getting the message. Samuel Adams leads a group called The Sons of Liberty on an act of Civil Disobiendence. The men dress as Native Americans and dumps all of the tea into the Harbor. This is called the Boston Tea Party.
