Capital Area League

We take great pride in representing our school and the Lisbon community in interscholastic athletic competition as a member of the Capitol Area League (CAL). The constitution and guidelines of the CAL provide a consistent philosophy of middle school athletics to promote learning, participation, and enjoyment of athletics.

“The member schools of the Capital Area Athletic League believe that a variety of athletic experiences should be available to middle level students. We understand that the physical, as well as the social and emotional development of students in the middle is an integral part of today’s education. The emphasis of the athletics offered by the member schools will be on the development of sportsmanship, leadership, citizenship and participation, as recommended by the Maine Principals’ Association. It is our hope that middle level athletics create an enjoyable experience for all students as they gain the knowledge and skills associated with the athletic endeavor they choose”. – Capital Area League, Mission Statement
