The village of Lisbon, a small town in the center of Columbiana County, is located in northeast Ohio. Lisbon is a large point of interest in the beginnings of Ohio, and an important location relating to the Civil War. This cheerful town, filled with delight, has more options for entertainment than what meets the eye.
When Lisbon was founded in 1803 by Lewis Kinney, it was first called "New Lisbon" after Lisbon, Portugal. Lisbon is a significant historical landmark as it was the furthest point north of the Civil War. Throughout the years, Lisbon has been continuing to thrive on small businesses and moderate tourism, while still keeping the cheerful energy and small-town feel that it has had since it was founded.
