Marié Danaé Magaña is an on-campus sophomore pursuing a degree in clinical counseling with a minor in writing. Originally from Louisiana, this army brat is now happy to call the city of San Antonio, Texas her home. Art of all forms is her hobby, but she leans towards photography, writing, and creative speaking. While juggling all of this, she is also a co-leader for a creative writing and speaking club called Speak On Purpose, and one day she hopes to walk with others as she helps them discover the best in their own lives.
Rosie is a junior in the School of Distance Education and is earning her B.A. in English. She lives in New Jersey, and even though she’s a few thousand miles away from the SAGU campus, she enjoys learning and growing with her fellow SAGU students. She loves to read and write, and one day she might even find a job that pays her to do these things. In the meantime, she puts her writing skills to work creating presentations for her church and finds new books while volunteering at her local library. When she doesn’t have her nose buried in a book, she likes baking, playing the piano, taking long walks in the woods, and spending time with her family.
Gina is a sophomore in SAGU's School of Distance Education. She is pursuing double bachelor's degrees in English with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Intercultural Studies. Her greatest desire is to please God with her life. She feels the call of God leads her in the direction of mercy ministries for women. The wheres and hows are still fuzzy, but she plans to use her English and Intercultural Studies degrees in tandem to reach out to lost and hurting women in regions hostile to the Good News of Jesus.
Born and raised and currently residing in Southern California, Gina has never set foot within the borders of the Lone Star State but hopes to one day make a visit to the SAGU campus. In her free time, she enjoys reading (a lot!), playing with her two Siamese cats Sawyer and Huckleberry, geeking out over genetics stuff (ever heard of 23andme?), spending time with her family, trying new foods, and traveling to new places, near or far.
A lifelong journal writer and sporadic watercolor painter, she strongly believes that artistic expression can minister to the soul. Her hope is that this spring's issue of The Image whispers words of comfort, encouragement, or conviction, whatever it is that God has for you here. Drink it in. What God builds in others, He also can do in you.
