In today’s world, it is more important than ever that we learn to build bridges with those who are different than us. When I look throughout Scripture, I note how Jesus, as our example, crossed so many social barriers to build relationships with those around him. He recruited fishermen, tax collectors, and women to follow Him. He even drew Nicodemus by night.

In this issue, we asked contributors to reflect on how God has built a bridge for their relationships with him and with others. Some of these stories are beautiful in messy ways; we asked our writers to be real and honest. May we all remember the cross as the ultimate example of our eternal God crossing a gap we could not hope to bridge ourselves.

Enjoy the read.
