Term-to-Term Moodle Course Transition Info & Deadlines

aka "Term Rollover"

Moodle logo

Your Moodle courses for next term have been created and should be visible in the “Future” tab in your Moodle Dashboard. Here is how to import the contents of one Moodle course into another course. If you are listed as the instructor of a course in the schedule but do not see the course in Moodle, contact lms-admins-lb@linnbenton.edu with the CRN(s).

For tips on getting your class ready for students see the Start of Term Guide for faculty.

The eLearning Team and Center for Teaching Excellence faculty will be available to support your work throughout the term - mostly via email or scheduled one-on-one Zoom sessions. For support with Moodle, Google Apps for Education, and Turnitin please email lms-admins-lb@linnbenton.edu. Eric and Paul will be available throughout the term. For support for remote teaching please email learning-innovation-lb@linnbenton.edu.

Using these group email addresses is the best way to ensure a response, or to schedule a meeting time. If you anticipate needing support during the first week of the term, reach out soon, as our schedules fill up fast.

June 14 (last day of term) - We will be available until 4:00pm for Moodle gradebook support. Here is how to export your grades from Moodle. Here is how to input your students’ grades into WebRunner.

IMPORTANT: As part of the DDA process, it is required that DDA Moodle courses will be set to be "Available to Students" a few days prior to the term. Course availability gives your students access to their DDA materials on or before the start of term. We understand that you may want to keep your teaching content hidden, but all that is needed to be visible to students are the DDA tools at the top of the course; optionally, you can make your teaching content unavailable. For more information on DDA, contact Lawrence Lajoie.

Additional Info

REMEMBER: Waitlisted students will be auto-enrolled in your Moodle course just like registered students. Waitlisted students who are not registered by 12:00am Tuesday of the second week of the term will be auto-unenrolled at that point. Communicate with your students to ensure that waitlisted students understand that they will lose course access if they are not registered.

IMPORTANT: New Moodle courses have an Announcements forum pre-loaded, and thus, care must be taken when importing content so as to not duplicate this forum because having more than one will break the emailing processes. More info here.

IMPORTANT: If you know you will be having a grade dispute, please retrieve and backup your log files before we archive your course.

FYI:

If your students need help, please refer them to the Student Help Desk.
