This version of HS 170: Introduction to Fieldwork an online asynchronous course and a prerequisite for the first CWE/Practicum course, HS 280. Content includes dynamics of the workplace, coping with work stress, supervision, ethics, and diversity. Course skills include writing learning objectives and creating a successful field placement experience. The course is designed to be taken Spring term of the first year of the Human Service AAS degree. The course is also a pre/co-requisite for the Gerontology CWE/Practicum GRN 280. HS 170 provides the background and specific skills necessary to select and succeed in the CWE/Practicum.
Included in this course are weekly overviews, assignments, and handouts. The course readings include an open textbook for each topic.
