Q: WHERE CAN I SEARCH FOR ON-CAMPUS STUDENT JOBS?

A: You can search for on campus student jobs by visiting LBCC’s Job site at: jobs.linnbenton.edu and selecting the Blue quick link labeled “Student”

Q: HOW DO I APPLY TO AN ON-CAMPUS STUDENT POSITION?

A: When you see a student position you are interested in, carefully read through the posting including the “Special Instructions to Applicants” section for instructions on how to apply and contact information. Select the link at the top or bottom of the page that says “Apply for this Posting”.

Q: I SUBMITTED MY RESUME TO A JOB POSTING. I NOW REALIZE THAT I LEFT OUT A PART IN MY RESUME. WHAT DO I DO?

A: Since you have already submitted the resume, you will be unable to make changes to that resume. If the position is still posted, you may email studentemployment@linnbenton.edu and request that your application be reactivated so you may make the change directly.

Q: I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY; ARE THERE STILL JOBS I CAN APPLY FOR?

A: Yes, there are a number of different jobs on-campus that are not Federal work study positions including earn and learn positions and part-time non contracted. Contact Student Employment for to learn more about these specific position options and for assistance in applying for them.

Q: IF I GET A JOB DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR, HOW MANY HOURS CAN I WORK?

A students allowable work hours are determined by multiple factors. These include:

  1. Type of position

  2. Budget

  3. Availability

Q: I DIDN’T GET A STUDENT JOB DURING THE SUMMER; WILL THERE BE ON-CAMPUS STUDENT JOBS FOR THE FALL, WINTER, OR SPRING?

A: Yes, student jobs are added to daily. Visit jobs.linnbenton.edu and select the Blue quick link labeled “Student” to see what opportunities may be available.

WHEN CAN I START WORKING?

A: You can only start working (including trainings and orientation), once you’ve received approval from the Student Employment Center. The Student Employment Center will send you instructions with steps and requirements that will need to be completed. Once all the required steps are completed, you and your supervisor will be sent a “Cleared to Work” email. Only after you’ve received this email are you able to begin working.
