ELA Academic Standards

Throughout the years, it has been proven that not all children learn the same way. All children are unique in their own way, we as educators need to use that to our advantage. There are four primary types of learners: visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will remember information best after reciting it back to the presenter, while kinesthetic learners will jump at the chance to participate in a hands-on activity. I will make it my priority to incorporate all of these approaches in my lessons so that each students gets a voice.

At School 5, we use the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Interventions (LLI) program. LLI allows me to work with your child in a small-group setting providing supplementary interventions. Through these interventions, my goal is to work with your child and guide them into the appropriate level for their grade level.
