Welcome! My name is Lauren McClellan, and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm a proud graduate of Rowan University, where I earned degrees in Theatre and English Education along with minors in Dance and Psychology. Teaching has been my passion for over eighteen years now, and I absolutely love what I do!
One of my favorite parts of being an educator is getting to direct plays and musicals with my students. During this year, I had the joy of directing Clue and Chicago- it was an amazing season!
I am the lead coach and proud board member of the New Jersey Dramatics and Forensics' League (we won 124 awards this year!) where students compete in the theatre and speech realm. This year, we also competed at Teen Arts (one student is attending the State Competition on June 2nd, 2026), Bergen Pac and Papermill Playhouse!
When I'm not at school, you'll find me at home with my wonderful little family: my husband Patrick, our adorable puppy Kelce (yes, I'm a huge sports fan!), and our two cats, Luna and Blu. They keep life interesting and full of love!

Students are expected to participate! Theatre is a collaborative and interactive experience. It is a large portion of students' overall grades. Students should arrive on time and be ready to work each day. It is also important to note: our classroom is a "Red Zone" for cell phone use, meaning students are not allowed to use them during our lessons. Students should not video, take photos or text in class. Please discuss all of these expectations with your students.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns. I will get back to you in a timely manner. I look forward to supporting your students and encouraging their success!
