HELLO ALL SWIM FAMILY & FRIENDS!
First off, we are so excited to start the 2025 SWIM SEASON! Please note we have UPDATED our pool program and registration process for the swim season.
Pool Program:
After reviewing our last two seasons and careful consideration we are moving our swim lessons to be 1:1 instruction. This means it will be one swimmer with one instructor. Swimmers will receive 8 lessons that are 20 minutes in length. We will be teaching based on their level and are looking for more attention being provided to our swimmers for better advancement and coaching.
Registration Process:
FIRST: If you do not have PARENTSQUARE please sign up when prompted.
SECOND: Registration will be complete ALL ONLINE through PARENTSQARE. In the application you will be asked to select:
1: Information about your child/ children: name, age, and swim level.
2: PAYMENT- it will direct you to pay for the class at time of registration. REGISTRATION IS INCOMPLETE UNTIL PAID ONLINE.*
3: The Type of Lessons: The first option is Parent and Me for 3 and under. Scrolling down you will see the 1:1 swim lesson choices.
4:Select The TIME and START DATE in which you would like the lesson for the entire session.
5: It will guide you finally to confirm and the payment option.
*There will be no CASH or CHECK payments for swim lessons this year.

LEVEL 1: INTRODUCTION TO WATER SAFETY
GOALS Include:
-Water comfortability without floatation devices.
-Safely getting in and out of the pool.
-Interactive water games for comfortability in water.
-Practice submerging face and ears in the water.
-Blowing bubbles underwater for proper pool breathing.
LEVEL 2: FUNDAMENTALS AQUATIC SKILLS
GOALS Include:
-Fully submerge head underwater while blowing bubbles.
-Unsupported floating of body in water on the front and back.
-Continuing entering and exiting pool safely.
LEVEL 3: FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS PART 2
GOALS Include:
-Complete START Position off wall to instructor while floating.
-Floating of body in water on the front and back for 10 seconds.
-Streamline kicking on front and back to instructor 10 meters out of pool.
-Entering the pool feet first into the lower end of lap pool.
LEVEL 4: STROKE DEVELOPMENT- FREESTYLE
GOALS Include:
-Develop freestyle stroke.
-Windmill arms to instructor while kicking at the same time.
-Strengthen kicking skills to assist in Freestyle Stroke.
- START position to stroke 15 meters out.
- Breathe on back when out of breathe.
-Jump feet first into deep end of pool.
-When jumping into the pool- swim to pool wall unassisted.
LEVEL 5: STROKE IMPROVEMENT
GOALS Include:
-Improve freestyle stroke: focus on use of arms and kick during stroke
-Transition breathing on back to side breathing to improve freestyle stroke.
- START position to freestyle stroke to end of the pool.
-Begin diving on the side of the pool from sitting or kneeling position.
-When jumping into the pool- swim to pool wall unassisted.
LEVEL 6: STROKE DEVELOPMENT- BACKSTROKE
GOALS Include:
-Develop backstroke stroke.
-Windmill arms to instructor while kicking at the same time on your back.
-Strengthen Freestyle Stroke.
-START Position for backstroke.
- START position to stroke 15 meters out.
-Dive in streamline stance at the side of the pool. Hands first, feet last.
-Freestyle swim 2 laps.
LEVEL 7: STROKE DEVELOPMENT- BUTTERFLY
GOALS Include:
-Develop butterfly stroke.
-Under water undulations of body using butterfly kick.
-Develop butterfly arms- arms exiting water and entering water at the same time.
-START Position for butterfly with underwater undulations to begin stroke.
- START position to stroke 15 meters out.
-Dive using “Take Your Mark” position at side of the pool.
-Freestyle 2 laps, backstroke 1 lap.
LEVEL 8: STROKE DEVELOPMENT- BREASTSTROKE
GOALS Include:
-Develop breaststroke stroke.
-Frog kick development for breaststroke kick.
-Develop breaststroke arms using pull down technique simultaneously.
-START Position for breaststroke with underwater pull down to begin stroke.
- START position to stroke 15 meters out.
-Begin diving off block using series of dive styles.
-Freestyle 2 laps, backstroke 1 lap, butterfly 1 lap.
LEVEL 9: STROKE IMPROVEMENT AND REFINEMENT
GOALS Include:
-Fine tune ALL STROKES: freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, & breaststroke.
-Work on diving from blocks.
-Flip turns off wall for long distance swims for freestyle and backstroke.
-Strengthen underwater starts and pull downs for ALL STROKES.
-Work on swim finishes for competition.
Instructor Support & Parent Led Swim Lessons for Swimmers 6 months to 3 years old.
THESE WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE AS GROUP LESSONS. (Up to 5 families MAX per group.)
Goals include to enter and exit the water safely, water adjustment, explore submerging of the mouth, nose, and eyes, explore supported floats on front and back. All while enjoying songs and fun games!
Linden values inclusive practices and believes that every child is entitled to swim lessons. Linden offers scholarships for families in need of financial assistance to make swim lessons feasible. They will qualify based on individual needs (subject to verification of income). Linden can cover a limited number of registration fees for those with substantial income-based needs. Ask Linden Aquatics about scholarship opportunities.
Application Availability
Applications are accepted throughout the year until at least 15 children of Linden Unified families have been funded. Funds are limited to one per child per calendar year. Review the scholarship guidelines included in the application linked below.
