About Miss Gurganus
My name is Kyla Gurganus, and I have been teaching at Lincoln High School for twenty-one years (since Fall 1999). I graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Michigan University in 1997 with a B.A. in professional chemistry with honors in general studies. I received my teaching certificate in 1999 and am certified to teach chemistry and mathematics in grades 6-12 in Michigan.
I am a member of Crossroads Community Baptist Church (a Southern Baptist church) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and teach children's Sunday School there. I am also very active in Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection.
Professionally, I am a member of the American Chemical Society, Metro Detroit Science Teachers Association, Detroit Area Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Phi Kappa Phi, the National Science Teaching Association, American Modeling Teachers Association, the Michigan Education Association, and the National Education Association.
