Teaching Philosophy
In my classroom, I want to establish a mutual feeling of respect with my students as we work toward a common goal of student success. I encourage students to ask questions and collaborate with their peers and myself, as they work to build confidence in their math abilities. For me, providing students with a positive learning environment is essential in fostering high achievement.
Educational/Career Journey
After graduating from LCHS, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree, majoring/minoring in Math and Physics at Cumberland College. I have since earned two Master’s degrees from EKU, one in Secondary Mathematics, the other in Educational Leadership, and I am currently beginning my 21st year of teaching. For the past seven years, I have also been a math instructor for Independence University.
Personal Background
I have lived in Stanford all my life, and have been married to my husband, Keith, for 19 years. We have been blessed with two awesome boys, Mason and Nolan. Together we love to travel, and be active in our church.
