Newport Music Program
Welcome to the website for the Newport Music Program. The Band and Choir programs at Newport Middle and High School strive to enrich and improve the lives of students through various musical experiences. We view students as accomplished learners. Everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop a deeper understanding of music.
Many opportunities present themselves in our Newport community for students to get involved both as musical performers and audience members. Our goal is to support as much musical growth as possible. Under "Upcoming Events" found below, all Newport Music Program required events are in bold, and extra opportunities will be listed in normal font. Text written in blue will link to a schedule for the event.

12/4: Rhodd Caldwell and Ginger Hodge work with NMS Choir
12/5: Accompanist works with NMS Choir
12/5: Music Booster Meeting over zoom, 6-7 PM.

12/7: Winter Music Concert, 7:00 PM in the Newport High Gym
12/9: Coastal Voices choir concert - 3:00 PM at the PAC. 17 and under are free with student ID, here is the link to purchase tickets
12/10: Holly Jolly community sing-along at the PAC, 2:00 PM. The first hour is family crafts and cookies, singing begins at 3:00 PM.
12/14: Music Portraits during class time. Wear your concert attire and be prepared for photos!
12/14: Yaquina View and Sam Case Elementary Music Concert: 5:30 PM at Newport High School (extra credit for helping!)

High School Brass and Woodwind students, interested in free coaching by Newport Symphony professional musicians? We are setting up small ensembles district-wide this fall. Please fill out this interest form for more details. The form is due Friday, September 15th.
Students, make sure to check out the "Members" section under the more tab for access to the All-State material, as well as private lesson teachers for the summer. Go Cubs!
