Class overview
This course covers the standards for 7th grade math. By the end of the year, you will be prepared to take Math 8 next year.
We will be operating on a "flipped classroom" model this year. This means that your lessons will be videos that you need to watch outside of class time. In class, we will be completing activities together. You will not have homework often, other than watching the next lesson video to prepare for the next class. It is essential that you are responsible and view lesson videos prior to class activities.
About me
My name is Mrs. Hart and I will be your math teacher this year! I am excited to get to know each of you better throughout the school year. Here's a little info about me:
I am 6'3 (that's height, not my age!!) which makes me the tallest middle school teacher - and I think the tallest teacher in general, or close at least.
My son's name is Matthew, and he is almost two and a half! He's super cute (and loud!) and loves to climb and be active. And anything that bounces!
This is my 6th year teaching in the Lincoln County School District - I am based up at Taft 7-12.
Coffee. Yes. I drink ALL the coffee.
I have two cats - Nyxie and Merlin. They love belly rubs and treats. . . kind of like dogs. Merlin will even play fetch!
I coach the high school volleyball team at Taft.
I'm a super Disney fan. I own almost all of the movies, and know the words to all of the songs. If you have a Disney movie question, I can probably answer it!
I have an extensive Sharpie collection. Last time my class counted it was up to 207!
I have very eclectic taste in music. I usually listen to Disney music or Heavy Metal - the best concerts are the ones with mosh pits!

Here are some resources to help you this school year. Check back often, as I'll add more resources as we need them.
