Class overview

In our classroom we are going to enjoy learning. We are going to work hard in mathematics, reading and writing. We will be working mostly in small groups and one on one to complete assignments. We will focus on IEP goals and individual needs daily.

Our school mascot is the bear cubs.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Matt. We have two sons (ages six and four) and a daughter (two). They takes up alot of my free time, but hobbies that I enjoy are cooking, sewing, farming, hiking, skiing, and reading.

I have lived in Lincolnton most of my life. I went to Appalachian state University and have a degree in Special Education. Then I continued my education at Liberty University with a degree as a Reading Specialist.

This is my tenth year teaching Special education at Childers Elementary. I am excited to teach Special Education! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I committed to teach reading, writing and mathematics and to help them to be life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is so important to keep communication open between us and I would love to talk to you about how we can better help your child. I look forward to a great year together!
