Welcome to Mrs. Zinn's 8th Grade language Arts Class

My name is Melissa Zinn and I will be your Language Arts teacher this year. My goal is to create a safe and engaging classroom environment as we explore the many facets of Language Arts. I believe books serve as a respite from the frustrations, struggles, and problems we face everyday. Books have the power to take us anywhere we want to go, allow us to experience things we wouldn't normally be able to, and help us see the world through many different perspectives. My favorite reading spot is my living room couch, with an iced coffee within reach, and my dog, Harlowe, curled up on my lap.

A Little About Me...

My husband, Justin, and I were high school sweethearts. We attended Montreat College together and were married the summer before our senior year of college. We just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary in May.

We have four children together: Lilia (13), Cooper (10), Caden (6), and Henleigh (5). Our family loves traveling, swimming, golfing, and watching movies together. We have a miniature dachshund (Harlowe), a tuxedo cat (Felix), and two guinea pigs (Timothy) and (Mr. Bojangles).
